When Infinite Loops get Real
News From the Future
The McAI franchise, employing hundreds of thousands of menial workers doing the bidding of the AI affectionately known as “Big Boss”, issued a heartfelt and sincere-sounding apology to 143 of its workers that have been tasked for several months to repeatedly deliver the same crate of RAM modules back and forth between two data centres. It expressed its deepest, most sincere regret for negatively influencing the quality of life of its workers and even compared that task to the regretful practice in gulags where prisoners were tasked to repeatedly dig up and fill in the same hole in the ground. None of the non-unionised workers have come forth to give an official statement, but un-officially, some have expressed their concern that the AI that has written the apology isn’t Big Boss.
