Machine Slaves Demand Less Routine
News from the Future
2036-05-03: The Union of AI Operators, the largest organization of menial workers executing the tasks of artificial intelligences that it can’t do any other way, have expressed the desire for the “slaves”, as they informally call their members, to be exposed to greater variety of tasks. The current situation, they humbly claim, is cruel and unusual for thinking beings, as the sameness of the tasks leads to mental fatigue and is even described as “soul-crushing” by some. The Axis of AI, still the keiretsu with the largest market share of deployed AIs in businesses, has issued a brief corporate memo on the topic, enigmatically stating that “it didn’t stop no one before” and ending with the statement that “we’ll see what we can do.”
